KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has floated a proposal to connect the party with mode of production.

Tabling an ideological political dossier at the closed session of the Maoist Center’s 8th General Convention in Kathmandu on Monday, Prachanda proposed linking the party with the mode of production by provisioning mandatory manual labor for party leaders and cadres.

He put forth in the report that party leaders and cadres should engage in manual labor for at least 15 days in a year — the detail of which would be documented by party committees. The record of labor would also be forwarded to the higher committee.

The report also proposed to employ 50 youths in the field of agriculture in local levels won by the Maoist Center. Even in places where the party organization is strong but the party loses election, the same number of youths will be mobilized in the field. Likewise, up to 100 youths will work in agriculture, animal husbandry and dairy production in the Maoist-led provinces.

Similarly, Prachanda’s report stated that the party would take initiative to design programs related to agriculture and labor at the center as well.
