Maoist Gen Convention: Inaugural session concludes; closed session to begin at 11 am Monday



KATHMANDU: The inaugural session of the eighth general convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has concluded on Sunday. The closed session of the general convention is set to start at 11 am Monday.

Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ inaugurated the convention at Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu this afternoon. Top political leaders, including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, among others, attended the inaugural session of the Maoist Convention.

Maoist leaders said that the peace process would be reviewed during the five-day gathering and that new ideas would be discussed to turn the party into a revolutionary one.
