CPN-Maoist Revolutionary leader Gajurel floats three conditions for unity among former Maoists

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Revolutionary leader CP Gajurel has put forward three conditions for unity among the former Maoists.

Extending his best wishes at the 8th General Convention of the CPN-Maoist Center Sunday, the leader urged to remember the commitments made by the Maoist’s Central Committee that existed before the People’s War.

Noting that Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ often raised the issue of unity among former Maoists, Gajurel advised the Maoist Center to lay the groundwork for Maoist unity.

“Prachanda often says that old Maoists should move ahead together. We take his view positively. We want all communist revolutionaries in Nepal to be one. May this Maoist General Convention prepare grounds for that,” said Gajurel.

He proposed that the Maoists ought to abide by the commitment of the Maoist Central Committee that functioned before People’s War, be prepared to establish a people’s republic as envisioned by People’s War, revoke the agreements, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and take a resolve to bring back Nepali lands.

“This General Convention must commit to fulfill the goal of establishing a people’s republic and stand for national integrity. Once these conditions are fulfilled then only door shall open for discussions on Maoist unity,” he said.
