Two killed in road accident in Sarlahi



MALANAWA: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Sarlahi last night.

A woman died after she was knocked down by a bicycle while a male person died in a motorbike accident, the Sarlahi Police said.

Saiful Khatun, 55, who was seriously injured after a bicycle hit her while crossing the road at Laxmipur, Haripur Municipality-6 on the Malangawa-Nawalpur road section, died during treatment at Janakpur at 9.30 pm on Saturday. Police have taken the bicyclist under control.

Similarly, 57-year-old Bhim Bahadur Gurung of Lalbandi Municipality-7, who was pillion riding on a motorcycle (Na 34 Pa 7021), died after a vehicle knocked the motorcycle in the Banke forest on the East-West highway in Sarlahi, Sarlahi District Police Office spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Madhav Prasad Budhathoki said.

Gurung was rushed to the District Hospital Malangawa for treatment soon after the accident but the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
