85 percent upgradation work completed on Jomsom-Korala section



GALESHWOR: Eighty-five percent works related to blacktopping and upgradation of Jomsom-Korala road section and 65 percent of Beni-Jomsom section has been completed so far.

Chief of Beni-Jomsom road section, Jagat Prajapati, said that upgrading work of Beni-Jomsom road in order to operate vehicles regularly even in rainy season has been completed. Beni-Jomsom road section is considered the lifeline of Gandaki Province.

He shared that motorable bridges are being constructed by replacing Bailey bridges along the Beni—Jomsom-Korala road section. Prajapati further said that along with the upgrading of the road section, eight motorable bridges have been constructed for the regular and smooth operation of vehicular movement.

The Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section is a project of national pride.

“We have been constructing motorable bridges replacing Bailey bridges. We have proposed for construction of more bridges as per the need,” he shared. Some bridges are under construction over different big and tributary rivers of Myagdi and Mustang along the road section and it has become easier for the road users after the operation of the bridges.

A 40 meters long bridge has been constructed at Rahughat rivulet, 40 meters long bridge at Ghatte rivulet of Myagdi and 115 meters long bridge at Syang rivulet and 50 meters long bridge at Panda rivulet of Mustang, said Prajapati.

Similarly, 70 meters long and 80 meters long bridge has been constructed at Mahabhir of Annapurna rural municipality and Kaligandakai of Pokhar Bagar of Myagdi respectively.
