Ruling parties will chart out common view on MCC: Minister Shrestha



KATHMANDU: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has claimed that the ruling parties would be able to chart out a common view on the US support project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

Talking to journalists at Damauli on Monday, Minister Shrestha said the ruling coalition has formed a taskforce to develop a shared understanding and stance on MCC and it would be made public soon. He also shared that the MCC content is being discussed in the party.

On a different note, Minister Shrestha said he was focused on managing foreign employment in labour sector and making labour diplomacy further effective by bringing policy reforms.

The government has adopted a policy for creating employment opportunities within the country and is working to initiate various reforms in foreign employment sector as well.

Sharing that a task force was constituted to check frauds and maneuverings propping up in the name of foreign employment, he said the ministry was working to review the foreign employment policy and action plan.
