UML to continue HoR obstruction

KATHMANDU: The CPN UML, which is dissatisfied with Speaker for not removing the lawmakers to whom it had taken action, has decided to continue obstruction in the meeting of federal parliament.

The meeting of the UML parliamentary party (PP) presided over by party Chair KP Sharma Oli at Singha Durbar took a decision to keep on obstructing the parliament.

Last July, the UML had taken action against 14 lawmakers from the party, including top leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, and recommended Speaker Agni Sapkota to remove them from parliament. But, Speaker Sapkota denied it, the UML blamed.

In the meeting, UML Chair Oli said his party would not tolerate injustice but keep on obstructing parliament. He also demanded changes in the parliamentary committees as per UML capacity in the federal parliament.

Meanwhile, Khagraj Adhikari and Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel from UML took part in the business advisory committee meeting called by Speaker Sapkota today and warned of obstructing parliament meeting if Speaker Sapkota did not address their demand.
