Six ordinances tabled in HoR, NA meetings amid opposition’s protest



KATHMANDU: Amidst the protest of major opposition CPN-UML, six ordinances were tabled at today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dilendra Prasad Badu, on the behalf of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, tabled the ‘Nepal police and province police (work operation, supervision and coordination) (first amendment) Ordinance-2078’, and ‘social security (first amendment) ordinance-2078’.

Similarly, Minister Badu presented ‘ordinance designed to amend some acts against sexual violence-2078’ and ‘ordinance designed to amend some acts related to criminal offense and criminal procedure-2078’.

Likewise, Minister Badu on the behalf of Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Renu Kumari Yadav, tabled the ‘railway ordinance-2078’. The next HoR meeting is scheduled for December 21.

Meanwhile, six different bills including ‘ordinance to regulate sale and distribution of acid and other harmful chemicals -2078’ were presented at today’s first meeting under the 11th session of the National Assembly.

Other ordinances tabled in the NA are ‘Nepal Police and Province Police (Work Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (first amendment) Ordinance-2078’, ‘Social Security (first amendment) Ordinance-2078’, ‘ordinance designed to amend some acts against sexual violence-2078’ and ‘ordinance designed to amend some acts related to criminal offense and criminal procedure-2078’ and ‘railway ordinance-2078’.

The NA will meet next on December 20.
