Male rhino found dead in Chitwan



CHITWAN: A male rhino was found dead in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16 in Chitwan district today.

According to Balkrishna Khanal, information officer at Division Forest Office, Chitwan, a 16-year-old rhino was found dead in the field. A technical team from the Division Forest Office, Chitwan and National Trust for Nature Conservation has examined the dead body of the rhino.

“Only the report could reveal whether the rhino died a natural death or was killed intentionally,” said Khanal. The technical team has managed the dead body of the rhino.

The rhino’s horn and hooves are found intact and are kept safely at the Division Forest Office’s Jhanjhane Post, Khanal added.
