NC leader Singh filing nomination for presidency after unveiling concept paper today

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh is unveiling a concept paper alongside the announcement of his candidacy in the 14th General Convention today.

Leader Singh will unveil the concept paper and announce his candidacy for the post of president at Sky Banquet located near the Traffic Police Office in front of the main gate of Singha Durbar at 10 am, informed UP Lamichhane, his personal aide.

“Leader Singh is announcing his candidacy alongside making the concept paper public,” said Lamichhane, adding, “He will depart to Rastriya Sabhagriha to file nomination from Sky Banquet itself.”

According to central election committee coordinator Gopal Krishna Ghimire, nominations are being held for the 134-member central working committee (CWC) including 13 office-bearers and 121 central members from 10 am to 5 pm (Saturday). The nominations will be filed at Rastriya Sabhagriha.

The non-establishment faction led by senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has not finalized a common candidate despite rigorous efforts it has been making for the last five days.

As the equation stands, leaders Singh and Shekhar Koirala are likely to contest election for the post of president. Similarly, President Sher Bahadur Deuba is filing his candidacy for the presidency for the post from the establishment side.

Krishna Prasad Sitaula faction has vowed support to Deuba.
