No reverse gear, reinstatement of monarchy impossible: Socialist Chair Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Unified Socialist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal has ruled out the possibility of reinstatement of monarchy in the country.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the Nepali Congress’ 14th General Convention in Kathmandu on Friday, Chairman Nepal said, “Do not even imagine reinstating monarchy. It is history now. Nepalis are capable of safeguarding the country.”

He warned, “Or else, people will not tolerate.”

Chairman Nepal also challenged the former monarch to establish a new party and contest the elections.
