Former King Gyanendra and former Crown Princess Himani do not have social media account: Former King Gyanedra’s Secretariat

KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah’s secretariat has clarified that former King Shah and Crown Princess Himani Shah do not have social media account like Twitter, Facebook, among others.

Issuing a notice on Thursday, the former King’s Secretariat remarked that the former Royals have no social media account and do not comment on the contemporary issues, though they share concerns about the issues of nationality, and public interest.

After former royalist leader Kamal Thapa’s defeat as Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair, Thapa has been accusing the former royals of interfering in the party politics.

Thapa alleged that he lost the RPP Chairman’s post to Rajendra Lingden as the Nirmal Niwas (Former King’s residence) lobbied for Lingden’s victory.

Responding to the allegations made by the irate former RPP Chair, the former King’s secretariat clarified that the King, though concerned about the issues of nationality and public interest, have not been responding through any social media account.

The Secretariat has alerted all not to be carried away by any false news or social media comments coming from fake account of the former royals.
