Nepal Bar continues its protest against CJ Rana



KATHMANDU: Lawyers and Nepal Bar Association (NBA) officials continued their protest against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Wednesday.

According to Nepal Bar sources, the legal practitioners staged their protest from Supreme Court premises and demanded his resignation.

Addressing the protest program NBA Chair Chandeshwor Shrestha remarked that exit of Chief Justice Rana is a must to end corruption in the judiciary.

He added that Chief Justice Rana will be impeached as all political parties have concluded that he (Chief Justice Rana) should be ousted.

During the protest, senior advocate Hari Upreti demanded that the vehicles and security facilities provided by the government to the Chief Justice should be taken away immediately.

He argued that citing the inefficiency and ineffectiveness of Chief Justice Rana, the facilities provided to him should be withdrawn.
