Budhanilakantha meeting: Deuba’s leadership indispensable



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has concluded that the leadership of party President Deuba for another term was indispensable.

The meeting held at Deuba’s residence in Budhanilakantha on Wednesday also decided to field Deuba in the party’s 14th general convention to be held from Friday.

The meeting has also decided to hold discussions at the top level again for the management of those aspiring leaders for office bearers and central members.

In the meeting, party leaders including Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, NP Saud, among others expressed their desire to contest for the post.

Likewise, some central members have also shown interest to contest for the post of the joint general secretary.

According to Dr. Mahat, the meeting has said that change of leadership is not the need of the hour since the country needs Deuba’s leadership.
