NC Sitaula faction holding meeting

To decide whether to file candidacy for president



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the faction led by Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula is taking place.

With two days to go before the 14th General Convention of the party, NC leader Sitaula is holding a meeting with leaders of his faction at his residence in Chandol this morning.

Central Working Committee (CWC) members Pradeep Paudel, Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Umakanta Chaudhari, Shiva Humagain are taking part in the meeting.

According to an NC leader close to Sitaula, the meeting will dwell on whether Sitaula will file his candidacy for the post of president or not.

Sitaula had contested the election for the presidential post in the 13th General Convention of the party.

He has not publicly announced his candidacy this time.

Meanwhile, top leaders of the NC are holding meetings as the 14th General Convention of the party approaches.

President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel are holding meetings with the leaders of their respective camps.
