SC justices under pressure to follow schedule after lottery system

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court judges are now in a rush after the apex court introduced lottery system for formation of bench and allocation of cases.

Judges, who initially advocated the introduction of lottery system, are starting to show signs of reluctance to walk the talk as the lottery system demands punctuality. The aging judges are making a scene rushing to reach the court at 9 am.

After the enforcement of lottery system, justices are compelled to reach the court on office time. The new lottery system started at the apex court from December 1.

It was rumored that Justice Harikrishna Karki, who had prepared proposal to introduce lottery from the very beginning, is also reluctant to abide by the lottery system now. Judges who are now on the verge of retirement are under great stress after the implementation of the new system.
