Lawmakers raise issue of inclusiveness on appointments of ambassadors

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) of the Parliament has taken place today.

The PHC meeting took place for the hearing of the proposed ambassadors today.

Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Pushpa Bhusal during the meeting stressed the need to hold sufficient discussions prior to issuing the notice of complaints.

“The PHC has to hold sufficient discussions prior to receiving complaints. It is not good to raise this issue when the process is already halfway. This issue should be taken seriously in the days ahead,” said Bhusal.

Similarly, UML lawmaker Suman Raj Pyakurel raised the issue of inclusiveness on the appointment of ambassadors.

Pyakurel said the current appointment of ambassadors is not in line with the inclusiveness laid down in the Constitution.

“Let’s ask the government regarding this issue and begin the hearing in the next meeting,” said Pyakurel.
