Ruling alliance will continue till National Assembly election, says PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the current ruling coalition will continue till the National Assembly elections.

Speaking with journalists at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday, PM Deuba said he cannot say what would happen to the alliance after the National Assembly elections.

The Election Commission has set the schedule for holding the National Assembly election on January 26, 2022.

The term of 20 members of the National Assembly is coming to an end on March 4 next year.

While one NA member is nominated by the President, elections for 19 posts will be held on January 26.

Meanwhile, PM Deuba has said that he wants to be the party president once again as per the party’s statute.

Deuba said, “According to the party’s statute, I want to be the party President once again for the last time.”
