KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reaffirmed his commitment to making his party revolutionary in ideology, principle and practice to lead Nepal’s socialist revolution.

Stating that people’s attraction towards the Maoist party has increased of late, the Maoist Centre Chairman said that past confusions regarding his party were over and the party would be institutionalised on the new foundation in the future. The Maoist Centre Chairman said so while virtually addressing the party’s local-level convention across the country on Saturday, adding that steps to make a revolutionary party on its own foundation have already been initiated.

He shared that a commitment has been made for the model of socialist revolution and its economic, political and cultural policies. On the occasion, Chairman Prachanda said that the total party membership has reached almost one million and the details of 800,000 party members were registered.

Claiming that the Maoist Centre will emerge as the largest political party in the country, the Maoist Centre Chairman added that confusions on ideology, politics and organisation were over in the party. He was of the view that more people have joined the Maoist party from Tarai-Madesh to the mountainous districts after the recent organisational campaigns of the party. The gatherings and national congress to be organised in absence of ideology and political guidelines look like a Kumbha Mela, the former prime minister said that despite absence of ideology and deliberations attempts have been made to create illusions and such conferences carry no meaning.

He also said that the House of Representatives (HoR) was dissolved twice with a conspiracy to dismantle the constitution and federal democratic republic while adding that the people countered as attempts were made to sabotage entire agendas of the transformation.

“We have arrived in today’s position due to the protest against regression. This is a matter of happiness and pride to all of us,” he argued. Likewise, he claimed that the agendas of transformation and nationality would remain weak if the Maoist party lagged behind and called for the party’s robust position while making it pro-people.
