KATHMANDU: The notorious brick kiln murder case with former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam as an alleged is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court on Friday.
According to SC sources, the case has been assigned to the division bench of Justices Deepak Kumar Karki and Sapana Pradhan Malla.
Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana had last scheduled the hearing of the case on November 12. The hearing was deterred then as the judges were in protest seeking Chief Justice Rana’s resignation.
Although the case has been fixed 13 times, it has been postponed seven times, listed as not to be heard three times, postponed due to the protest of the justices two times and was listed as not to be heard on the day once.
Alam is the main alleged in the Rautahat bombing on April 9, 2008. He is accused of burning the injured of a bomb explosion in a brick kiln.
