SC set to implement lottery system to assign cases from December 1



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is set to implement a lottery system for scheduling cases from December 1.

A full court meeting of SC justices held Thursday at the apex court agreed to implement the lottery system from December 1, said SC Information Officer Devendra Dhakal.

Earlier, the full court meeting amended the SC rules of procedure to allow constituting benches through lottery. The amendment has already published in Nepal Gazette.

Earlier, the Chief Justice had discretionary power to constitute benches and scheduling cases for hearing.
