Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda to cooperate in the investigation of ‘conflict-era’ incidents



KATHMANDU: Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party is ready to investigate the shortcomings of the ‘conflict-period.”

Issuing a press statement on  the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) on Sunday, Prachanda assured that all political parties are ready to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process.

“All the political parties are committed to create an atmosphere of reconciliation by investigating the facts of the conflict-era incidents,” he said.

Prachanda added that the laws and bylaws deserving amendments will be amended as per the international standards and their localization in Nepali context and a bill will be passed from the forthcoming session of the parliament.

He said that he was committed to reconciling the victims of the conflict through a process of investigation based on the recognition of full and transitional justice.

The Maoist Center Chair promised that the bill will be finalized amending it after consultation with the families of martyrs and missing persons, injured and displaced.
