NC holding conventions in 20 Province Assembly constituencies in Kathmandu today



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding conventions in 20 Province Assembly constituencies including ‘Kha’ and ‘Kha’ of 10 federal constituencies of Kathmandu district today.

Nepali Congress Kathmandu Chief Election Officer and senior advocate Narahari Acharya has informed that election officers have been deployed to all the Province Assembly constituencies to this effect.

“We have already dispatched letters to all the Province Assembly constituencies for conducting the conventions,” he said.

A total of 8,900 leaders will be elected through the Province Assembly Conventions from 330 Province Assembly constituencies.

Conventions have been held in 138 wards and 11 local units in Kathmandu. There are one Metropolitan City and 10 municipalities in Kathmandu.

Similarly, the province convention has been scheduled for December 1 and 2.  The party’s central convention is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from December 10 to 12.
