Full court meeting underway at SC

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the full-court called by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana with Justices of the Supreme Court is underway.

The meeting is underway at the Supreme Court, according to Chief Registrar Lal Babu Kunwar.

A total of 20 Justices including Chief Justice Rana are participating in the meeting.

A meeting of Justices held yesterday had decided to urge Chief Justice to call a full-court meeting to endorse the procedural draft to amend the regulations.

According to the agreement, the benches will be assigned to Justices through lottery. Following the agreement, 14 Justices had directed the Registrar to call the full-court meeting on Wednesday.

Justices, who have been boycotting benches demanding Chief Justice Rana’s resignation, have agreed to resume duties once the  procedure on the regulations is endorsed.
