Province 1 CM Rai secures vote of confidence



KATHMANDU: Province 1 Chief Minister Rajendra Rai has secured the vote of confidence at the Provincial Assembly Wednesday.

CM received 50 votes in favor of his vote of confidence motion and 29 against it.

Speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari declared that Rai had received a vote of confidence as he had support of majority of PA members present in the PA.

A total of 79 PA members were present in today’s voting.

Out of the total 92 lawmakers in the PA, 10 lawmakers of the CPN-Unified Socialist, 21 of the Nepali Congress, 15 of the CPN-Maoist Center and three of Janata Samajbadi Party and one lawmaker of Federal Democratic National Forum voted in favor of Chief Minister Rai.

The main opposition party, the CPN-UML, voted against the vote of confidence motion.
