Dr Shekhar can be a consensus candidate for NC President from rival camp: Dr. Shashank

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala has hinted that NC leader Dr Shekhar Koirala can be the consensus candidate for the party president in the upcoming 14th general convention from the rival camp.

Dr Shashank said that Dr Shekhar needs to convince other leaders of the camp.

Speaking at a program in Sarlahi, Dr. Shashank also signaled his support for Dr Shekhar at the 14th General Convention.

He stated that since senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has already contested for the party chairmanship, and another aspirant Prakash Man Singh was not popular outside Kathmandu Valley, Dr Shekhar would be the best choice to become the party President in the 14th general convention.
