UML unanimously elects leadership in seven local levels of Kailali



KAILALI: CPN-UML has unanimously selected leadership in seven out of 13 local levels of Kailali.

UML Kailali in-charge, Narad Muni Rana informed that the leadership has been unanimously selected in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan Municipality, Gauriganga Municipality, Janaki, Kailari, Joshipur, Chure and Bardagoria.

According to him, the leadership of six municipal committees is yet to be selected.

Efforts are being made to select the leadership in Lamki Chuha and Ghodaghodi municipalities and Mohanyal village municipality on the basis of consensus.

Rana informed that the leadership would be selected by holding closed-door sessions in Godavari and Tikapur municipalities.

Out of the seven selected by the UML till Tuesday, women have been elected at two local levels.

Rana informed that Shanti Singh has been elected as the chairperson of Gauriganga municipality and Jhuma Chaudhary as the chairperson of Kailari municipality.

An 85-member committee has been formed in Dhangadhi under the chairmanship of Ram Chandra Joshi.

Likewise, a 71-member village committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Khakendra Bhandari in Janaki municipality and a 31-member village committee has been elected under the chairmanship of Keshar Chaudhary in Joshipur municipality.

A 75-member committee has been picked in Chure village under the chairmanship of Chakra Bogati.

A 60-member committee has been formed in Bardagoria under the chairmanship of Madhukar Sijapati.
