NC leaders urge party leadership to make its stance clear on crisis plaguing judiciary



KATHMANDU: Twelve leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) have urged the party to stand up for judicial reform and make its stance clear on the ongoing crisis in judiciary.

Issuing a joint statement on Friday, 12 NC leaders, including Chandra Bhandari and Gagan Thapa, have pointed out that the situation in the judiciary has become complicated, and as a key political party the NC cannot remain indifferent to it anymore.

They argued that Supreme Court judges boycotting benches and the allegations levelled against the Chief Justice are not minor issues to be overlooked; hence, the party should make its position clear on such issues.

15 SC judges have been boycotting the benches assigned by Chief Justice and have been demanding that Chief Justice should provide a solution through his resignation.
