Parliament session prorogued



KATHMANDU: The current session of Legislature-Parliament has been prorogued.

According to Parliament Secretariat, President Bidya Devi Bhandari prorogued the sessions of both House of Representatives and the National Assembly from Friday midnight on a recommendation by the government.

A meeting of Council of Ministers held on Thursday had decided to recommend ending the sessions.

The ninth session of the parliament that began from September 8 could not run smoothly due to the obstruction from the main opposition CPN-UML.

Earlier today, the HoR had been adjourned till November 15.
