KATHMANDU: CPN-Marxist Leninist General Secretary CP Mainali has said that Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana should resign immediately or else he should be impeached.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, leader Mainali pointed out that judiciary has been facing crisis due to the indecent, unprofessional, selfish, politically-motivated and externally-influenced activities of Chief Justice Rana. He urged the Chief Justice to resign from the post immediately.
Mainali criticized the ruling alliance for their mum on the allegations made against the Chief Justice and accused the alliance leader of nurturing petty interest rather than going for dignity of the court.
“Despite so many allegations and protests from the concerned sector about the Chief Justice, the silence of the ruling coalition parties shows that the leaders of the coalition are negotiating with the Chief Justice, especially for personal or group political or other interests.” he indicated in the statement.
