KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is holding the party’s local level convention across the country today.
Ahead of the party’s 10th National Congress, the local level convention of the UML is being held in all 753 local levels. Likewise, the area-level convention would also be organized under the special constituency today itself.
Party Chair KP Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the local level convention virtually at 1:00 pm later in the day from the party central office in Kathmandu, UML central office’s secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said.
Earlier, the UML conducted the ward-level convention on October 23 across the country except in the flood-hit areas.
As per the party’s new statute, 75 members would be elected in rural municipality and municipality committee, 85 in sub-metropolitan committee whereas 101-member committee in the metropolitan level. Likewise, the party has summoned its Standing Committee meeting on October 28 and Central Committee meeting on October 29.
