Unfavorable weather affects domestic flights in country

KATHMANDU: Unfavorable weather caused by incessant rains has affected flights at domestic airports across the country.

According to the Kathmandu airport office, most of the Lukla flights scheduled for Tuesday morning were canceled.

Domestic airports are struggling to operate in face of challenging weather and poor visibility. Biratnagar and Janakpur airports are trying to resume operations. Flights from Jhapa’s Bhadrapur Airport and Pokhara Airport are also trying to take off.

In the meantime, Tara Air had scheduled six flights to ferry the team of Bollywood actors to Manang for shooting on Tuesday. However, no flights could take place.

According to the Kathmandu airport office, scheduled flights to Dolpa, Jomsom and Tumlingtar were also affected. Air travel has been affected mostly due to thick fog in the hilly region.

However, international flights from Kathmandu have remained unaffected.
