SAFF Championship: Nepal taking on India today

KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on India in a football match played under the SAFF Championship Sunday.

Nepal faces India, considered a South Asian ‘power house’, at 9:45 in Male, Maldives.

If Nepal wins the match, it is likely that it would enter the final of the Championship.

However, India is under pressure to win to secure a place in the final.

Though it is not easy to beat seven-time champion India, Nepal, which has won the first two games, is entering the field with high morale.

Coach Abdullah Almutairi has encouraged the Nepali players saying that he will play to win against India.

Nepal, which is at the top with 6 points in 2 games, has looked weak in the previous game against India.

However, it is in the fourth position with 2 points in 2 games. Therefore, it is considered that Nepal can dominate India.

In the previous 21 matches against India, Nepal lost 14, won 5 and played 2 draws.
