India’s PM Modi offers prayers at Badrinath Temple

NEW DELHI: As part of his two-day spiritual tour, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reached Badrinath temple and offered prayers.

He earlier visited the Kedarnath temple and meditated for more than 15 hours in an isolated cave, media reports said on Sunday.

Coming out of the Kedarnath cave, PM Modi thanked the Election Commission for granting him permission to go on spiritual tour at a time when the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in force.

Speaking to reporters, PM Modi said he did not ask for anything with God saying, “He (God) has given me the capacity to give, not demand.”

Several opposition leaders, however, criticized PM Modi, saying that he had violated the poll code. (Agencies)
