KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has objected to the new logo of the CPN-UML.

The UML unveiled its new logo in which hammer and sickle are placed inside the ‘sun’ sign at the recently concluded Statute General Convention. The Maoist Center’s election symbol has hammer and sickle inside a circle.

Chief Whip of the Maoist Center Dev Gurung said the UML’s new logo was similar to their election symbol and they would move the court in this regard.

“The UML party’s logo is similar to our party’s election symbol. This is against the law,” he said. “This act is against the election law. The UML has acted against the law.”

The Communist Party’s international flag also contains a hammer and sickle symbol.
