Province 2 CM Raut accuses CIAA of trying to discredit province govt

JANAKPUR: Province-2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut has alleged that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has conspired to discredit the province government.

Addressing the Province Assembly in Janakpurdham on Wednesday, Chief Minister Raut said the recent raid at the CM’s office was a conspiracy to discredit the government.

He alleged that there was a political conspiracy to make the bicycle distribution program carried out under the Chief Minister’s ‘Teach Daughter, Save Daughter Campaign’ controversial.

Chief Minister Raut said that the CIAA had raided the Chief Minister’s Office unlawfully and attacked the dignity of the province government.

“The raid by the CIAA is an attack on the institution,” Raut said, adding, “Had it asked for the documents, the government would surely provide all documents for everything had been done lawfully.”

Raut defended the province government’s decision to distribute bicycles and claimed that the bicycles distributed by the province government have helped in the safety and education of the girls in the province.

CM Raut is seeking vote of confidence in the Province Assembly today.
