Inland Revenue Office raids tax evading suppliers



SURKHET: The Inland Revenue Office Surkhet raided Bhusal Order and Suppliers at Birendranagar-6, Shanihal Line. Acting on a tip off, the revenue office had raided the suppliers on Tuesday evening.

Tax officer Khadananda Khatry shared that the office had confiscated tax evaded 261 packets of Jhumka Superpower and 148 packets of tobacco with bulb stamp from the suppliers.

Khatry further informed a total of 409 packets of tobacco related products imported to Surkhet evading tax were seized from the suppliers.

“We will take ahead a necessary legal process with investigation”, Khatry added. The office had directed supplier Laxmi Prasad Bhusal to be present at the office on Wednesday.

According to the Inland Revenue Office, revenue of around Rs 6 million was generated from the confiscation of illegal tobacco products in the last fiscal year.
