Nilkaji Shakya wins NC Kathmandu metropolis presidency



KATHMANDU: Nilkaji Shakya has been elected as the Kathmandu Metropolis President of the Nepali Congress.

In Sunday’s polls, Shakya won with 796 votes. He is close to former general secretary Prakash Man Singh and aligns with Ram Chandra Poudel faction of the party. Leader Gagan Thapa had also backed Shakya.

Pragatiman Ranjit, the candidate from the establishment faction of the party, got 329 votes.
