RPP concludes conventions in 44 districts

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has concluded party conventions in 44 districts.

The 44 conventions were held in the process of selecting delegates for the party’s general convention to be held in November 13-16.

RPP leader Rajaram Shrestha said all the district conventions are scheduled to be completed by October 6.

The party’s central election eommittee (CEC) decided to hold re-election after disputes marred the conventions held in Parsa, Syangja, Mahottari and Gorkha districts.

RPP is electing delegates from among active members for the first time. Earlier, delegated were elected from regional and local committees.

RPP central member Sundar Pandey said chairpersons of provincial and regional committees and chairs of metropolitan, sub-metropolitan, municipals and rural municipal will be able to be delegates to the general convention as ex-officio members. However, they will be allowed to vote but are not allowed to become candidates themselves.
