Govt or Speaker should hold one-on-one talks with UML to clear obstruction in parliament: UML Chief Whip Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai has said that the government or the Speaker needed to directly talk with the UML to clear obstruction in parliament.

Speaking at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor Thursday, Bhattarai said that the ruling parties or the speaker should hold one-on-one discussion with the UML for a solution-oriented effort.

He was of the view that the UML should be approached directly instead of holding an all-party meeting to end the stalemate in the parliament. Stating that the party believed in dialogue, he said the UML was ready to discuss for a peaceful solution, however, the government and the speaker did not discuss the UML’s agenda at all.

He said UML parliamentarians were dissatisfied with the actions of the speaker and the government for bringing and scrapping the ordinance on political parties that led to the split of the party.
