Pre-booking of tickets for Dashain festival from today

KATHMANDU: The pre-booking of tickets for people going back home for Dashain festival from Kathmandu has opened from today.

The government has opened the pre-booking of tickets in consultation with the transport entrepreneurs for long and medium route vehicles.

A ‘ticket counter’ has been added in the new bus park for advance ticket booking. The Lhotse Multipurpose Company has added 11 ticket counters in collaboration with businessmen.

Public vehicles have been plying from the new bus park to more than 65 districts across the country.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Traffic Police has set up passenger helplines at 14 different places in Kathmandu targeting the festival.

Necessary coordination will be made in the help desk for the fare going from Kathmandu to various destinations and for the passengers to reach their destination easily.

A joint meeting of the Home Ministry, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), the District Administration Office, Kathmandu and transport entrepreneurs held on Thursday had taken a decision to this effect.

The DoTM has informed that the ticket can also be booked online in view of the COVID-19 pandemic this year.
