People’s democracy, socialism should be party’s current strategy: Dahal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed the need to follow the path of people’s democracy as postulated by late communist leader Madan Bhandari. If done so, it would be a real tribute to late leaders.

Speaking at a program organized in Balkhu, Kathmandu on the occasion of 26th Madan Bhandari-Jivraj Ashrit Memorial Day on Friday, Dahal stressed that it would be a real tribute to late leaders if we follow the path of people’s democracy as shown by leader Madan Bhandari.

“We should follow the people’s democracy as postulated by Bhandari and socialism as current strategy to forge party unification while reviewing the pros and cons of the communist movement across the world,” said Dahal, adding, “The party then should be steered based on the mandate of the upcoming district and general conventions.

Leaders Madan Bhandari and Jivraj Ashrit had died in a jeep accident at Daddhunga in Chitwan ditrict on May 16, 1993.
