KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has called for immediately opening the roads that have been obstructed due to rain.
Issuing a statement on Wednesday evening, Federation Chairperson Yogendranath Karmacharya called for the government to immediately reopen the obstructed highways and roads to take passengers to their destinations without hassles in view of the festive times.
“Number of passenger-ferrying vehicles would surely increase with the rise in the flow of passengers to and from Kathmandu Valley for festive celebrations,” said chairperson Karmacharya said. Karmacharya further said that the vehicles would face trouble in operating their services with the disruption of main highway and rural roads outside Kathmandu Valley due to incessant rain.
Likewise, Federation’s general-secretary Saroj Sitaula said opening of pre-booking of tickets for Dashain would see a big trouble inlack of smooth two-way road traffic. The Federation has strongly demanded government take immediate initiatives to ensure smooth operations of two-way traffic in the highways and roads.
