KATHMANDU: Guna Airlines has started preparations to start regular Kathmandu-Surkhet flights before the Dashain festival.

Prajwal Thapa, the spokesperson of Guna Airlines, informed that the preparation has reached the final stage to fly to five destinations in the country. According to him, initial flights are planned to Surkhet, Pokhara, Bharatpur, Chitwan, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj.

Spokesperson Thapa said that a test flight will be launched in Kathmandu-Surkhet in a few days as permission has been obtained from the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal. ‘Karnali is a virgin destination for tourism. Guna Airlines is working hard to bring the tourists coming to Kathmandu directly to Surkhet, ‘said Thapa.

President of the Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Karnali, Padma Bahadur Shahi said that the service should be continued after the launch of Guna Airlines.

The fare of Kathmandu-Surkhet has not been decided yet. But it will be a bit cheaper than the current one, ‘said spokesperson Thapa.
