BUTWAL: Two persons, including police, have landed in a police net for taking bribe from Indian tourists at Nepal-India border at Belahiya.
Police have arrested Lakki Chandra Lohar of Belahiya Area Police Office and Santosh Gupta of Belahiya-based Gujarat Travel on the charge of taking bribe from tourists from India to cross the border.
Gupta, an employee of Travels, had demanded Rs 500 per person from a group of eight people who had come to Belahiya through Gujarat Travels to visit Pashupatinath Temple. The group of tourists had entered Nepal by handing over the amount to the police.
After receiving a complaint about the incident, Rupandehi police arrested Yadav and Lohar, both working in Gujarat Travels, and sent them to the District Police Office on Monday night, said Navin Poudel, Chief Inspector of Police, Area Police Office, Belahiya.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rupandehi, DSP Satyanarayan Thapa said that both Gupta and Lohar were arrested and an investigation was launched.
