KATHMANDU: Former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has said that a capable leadership would come from the party’s 14th general convention to understand the sentiments of the Nepali people and he will not leave the race for the party President.
Stating that disputes and undemocratic activities are on the rise within the party, he said that the disputes in the districts should be resolved in accordance with the law.
NC Leader Singh said that the possibility of a common candidate from other groups has not been ruled out yet. But he says he will not back down from the presidential candidacy.
He said that discussions were underway in other groups for a common candidate but no conclusion was reached.
President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Singh, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Dr. Shashank Koirala and central member Shekhar Koirala are aspiring for the chairmanship.
Speaking on the issue of government, Singh said that the expansion of the Council of Ministers had been delayed due to confusion in the internal management of some parties in the ruling coalition.
Speaking at a program organized by Ganeshman Singh Foundation on the occasion of Ganeshman Singh’s 25th Memorial Day at Shobhabhagwati, Singh said that the expansion of the Council of Ministers was delayed due to disagreement between the parties in the alliance. He said that the government would get perfection soon.
