UAE Ambassador Alnaqbi calls on Energy Minister Bhusal



KATHMANDU: Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Nepal Saeed Hamdan Alnaqbi paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal at her office in Singha Durbar Friday. In the meeting, they discussed various aspects of bilateral relations between Nepal and the UAE.

On the occasion, ambassador Alnaqbi said bilateral trade expanded and this helped in further strengthening the mutual ties during his term in office. He urged the Energy Minister to attend the International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference to be held on November 15-18, 2021, in Abu Dhabi. On the occasion, Ambassador Alnaqbi handed over to the Minister the invitation letter from the UAE government.

In response, Minister Bhusal extended gratitude to the UAE government for inviting her to the Conference in Abu Dhabi and wished for the success of the event. She said she would inform of her participation in the conference through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the meeting, Minister Bhusal mentioned that more than 200 thousand Nepalis were in UAE in connection with employment and expressed her confidence that they were getting decent facilities there. She thanked the UAE government for looking after the Nepalis there even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stating that there was appropriate opportunity for investment in the energy, agriculture, tourism and other sectors in Nepal, Minister Bhusal urged the interested investors from the UAE to invest here.

Officials of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present on the occasion.
