KATHMANDU: UML Standing Committee Member Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has claimed that UML will defeat the regression taking roots in the country.

Addressing a district-level training program in Kathmandu Thursday, he described the formation of a government through court order as a regressive step.

Stating that rightist and expansionist forces had left the UML, he committed to get rid of regression. “Madhav Kumar Nepal won’t last long,” he said.

“Capitalist, right-wing, expansionist elements broke away from the UML. Socialist and leftists have conquered the rightist forces. The communist movement was dismantled with the help of court. Political regression took roots. We will defeat it. We will move in the direction of reversing such regression,” he said.

Thapa claimed that the UML had won over the right wing. “They are not going to last long. We will advance the struggle against the right-wing and capitalists from the Parliament and the streets,” he said.
