UML to obstruct parliament today as well

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to obstruct the parliament until Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota dismisses 14 lawmakers earlier suspended by the party.

UML boycotted the all-party meeting convened by Speaker Sapkota on Monday.

The UML party had earlier registered a letter in the Federal Parliament Secretariat dismissing 14 lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The party has been demanding that Speaker Sapkota took action against the 14 lawmakers.

“As per the UML’s decision, the Speaker has not yet pasted a notice of dismissal of 14 lawmakers,” UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai said.

He added that his party would continue to obstruct the meeting of the House of Representatives until the Speaker fulfills his constitutional and legal responsibilities.
