Govt directs to halt NRNA election process

KATHMANDU: The government has directed to halt elections and conventions of the Non-Resident Nepali Association and the International Coordination Council (ICC).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 10 had issued a directive to stall the elections until the report of the investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NRNA elections comes out.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed a three-member investigation committee under the coordination of Joint Secretary Bharat Kumar Regmi following reports of alleged irregularities committed while electing NRNA ICC representatives.
